About Sarah Denae | Conscious Designer & Founder of Aureaux
A Multidisciplinary Approach to Design
Sarah Denae’s design philosophy is rooted in a profound appreciation for beauty, function, and the art of living well. With a degree in Interior Design and a career spanning architecture, interiors, digital design, and fine art, her approach is both intuitive and deeply informed.
She began her career at a top architecture firm, where she honed her ability to shape space with precision and intention. Over the years, she has cultivated a multidisciplinary perspective, seamlessly integrating structure, aesthetics, and human experience. Because of her diverse background, she brings a unique perspective to every project, allowing for thoughtful and innovative solutions.
A Thoughtful, Immersive Process
At Aureaux, Sarah brings a bold and deliberate approach to both interior and exterior environments. She believes great design is not simply about aesthetics—it’s about evoking a sense of place, purpose, and belonging.
Her process is immersive and analytical. To begin with, she explores how a space will be used, who will inhabit it, and what emotions it should evoke. As the project unfolds, she carefully considers how each element contributes to the overall experience. Every project is a dialogue—between architecture and nature, between past and present, and between the client’s vision and the unseen potential of the space itself.
Conscious & Artful Design
As a conscious designer, Sarah is intentional about the materials, furnishings, and objects that shape an environment. She gravitates toward vintage and second-hand pieces, not only for their sustainability but also for the character and narrative they bring to a space. Additionally, she believes that selecting high-quality, lasting materials is essential to creating timeless interiors.
In addition, her background as an oil painter informs her ability to curate composition, texture, and color with an artist’s eye. This ensures that each space is a layered, harmonious expression of its inhabitants. Furthermore, she is always mindful of how light, shadow, and movement interact within a space, contributing to a sense of depth and richness.
